PowerPoint Tip: Are you still using the same basic layouts and color schemes for your presentations? If so, try one of the many bold themes to create a vibrant presentation! PowerPoint includes themes that use bright colors and textured backgrounds. You can find the themes on the Design tab. Experiment to see what your presentation would look like using these themes, like the ones below.

PowerPoint Tip: Use pictures and images if you want your information remembered. According to molecular biologist John Medina, our ability to remember images is one of our greatest strengths. “We are incredible at remembering pictures,” he writes. “Hear a piece of information, and three days later you’ll remember 10% of it. Add a picture and you’ll remember 65%.”

Relate your images and pictures directly to the text and make sure they are relevant. For example, if you are discussing money, use pictures like the ones below. Contact me at sharon_daniel@att.net for support on designing compelling presentations.

Make your charts stand out using the Color feature to make it more impactful. Of the two charts below, which catches your attention the most? For me, it’s the one on the left because I have a preference for cool colors. You can change the color of a chart after creating it. Review this tutorial for more information on how to change chart colors! Contact me at sharon_daniel@att.net for support on updating chart colors.
